Coastsetter was founded in 2026 in Taylors, South Carolina, with a clear purpose: to build hardwood chairs that could stand up to the beach and still belong everywhere else people gather.
The company was formed by people who had spent years around beach chairs, manufacturing them, distributing them, and seeing firsthand what held up and what didn’t. Coastsetter brought together disciplined manufacturing leadership and deep familiarity with the coastal environments where these products are used every day. From the beginning, the focus was simple: build durable hardwood seating the right way, with control over materials, production, and quality.
South Carolina provided the right foundation. White oak sourced and processed in the region is well suited for outdoor durability, and Coastsetter’s location along the Atlantic coast allows every chair to be made, inspected, and distributed from one place. This proximity improves consistency and ensures that every chair meets the same standard before it leaves the warehouse. After all, a chair built for the coast should come from the coast.
Coastsetter chairs are built for long days at the beach and equally at home at tailgates, backyards, and gatherings beyond the shoreline. They are designed to remain in use, season after season, built with care for the materials, the process, and the people who depend on them.
